Discarded Items on Beach

Leave No Trace Update
Items Left on Beach Overnight will no longer be stored.

Property discarded in accordance with Walton County's Leave No Trace will no longer be stored for pickup at the Visit South Walton (VSW) maintenance facility in Santa Rosa Beach, FL.  Per Walton County Ordinance 2013-04 Section 2254 (g), personal articles left on the beach one hour after sunset will be removed before one hour after sunrise. These items generally include but are not limited to: beach chairs, umbrellas, tents, hammocks, volleyball nets, picnic tables and tiki huts.

Being a good host means sharing the rules in advance. VSW provides educational resources, such as the Beachgoers guide outlining the Leave No Trace and sea turtle nesting laws, safety tips and more.  The guide is available at the Visitor Center located at 25777 US Highway 331 in Santa Rosa Beach, FL and by request.
